The best golf courses you can play

Forelinksters has been live on the web for one year. In that time, the members of our community have added over 3,000 golf courses, 7,500 photos, 9,000 golf course reviews and ratings.  The golf courses represent the best public golf courses you can play, mostly in the United States, but a number of golf courses have been added from Canada, Ireland, Scotland, the United Kingdom, along with South Africa, Spain, Portugal, and others.  We’ve ended up with a directory of golf courses that represent the best golf courses you can play as featured in Golfweek, Golf Digest, and Golf magazines’ combined publications.  Golf Magazine has Travelin Joe, Best Public Golf Courses, Best New Golf Courses. Golf Digest has Best New Courses, Best Golf Resorts, Best Golf Courses for Women. Golfweek has Best Golf Courses you can Play, best casino golf courses, and best PGA Tour Golf courses.  Forelinksters has all of these courses listed, and better yet they’ve been published and reviewed by regular golfers, who aren’t influenced by advertising $’s.

Forelinksters has summarized the directory with a Golf Trails section, which lists the best golf courses you can play in and around major cities in each state, sorted by the current ratings of each course. As an example, if you wanted to find the best golf courses to play in Las Vegas you would find our Golf Trail for Las Vegas with currently 24 of the best golf course in the area. We know there’s over 100 golf courses in the Las Vegas area, but our Trails section only lists and rates the Top 24. If we’re missing your favorite, be sure to add it to the directory here.

You can also just use the standard search feature to find golf courses within 30-40 miles of a specific destination, by inserting city and state. Another interesting feature that has emerged is the keyword search. Use the keyword function to more define your search. As an example search for all courses in California that have the word “gem” in their listings, and you’ll find five “hidden gems golf courses” there. The search feature also will sort results by alphabetical, course rating, or cost to play the courses.

Forelinksters provides its members with the ability to rate and review golf courses, and if they’re a Facebook member, the review will be automatically published to their Facebook Wall if they wish. The review will also be recorded in the member’s Forelinksters dashboard where there’s a record of the golf courses published and rated by the member.  Another feature of Forelinksters is the ability to “become a fan” of your favorite golf courses, and be alerted when someone has played the golf course and rated the course. One additional advantage of Forelinksters is the ability to communicate with other members to discuss other golf courses, current conditions, and otherwise connect by contacting the “publisher” of specific golf courses or golf course reviews.
